About Zetilda Ellis, Master's Level Registered Social Worker

Zetilda is a Master’s level Registered Social Worker, specializing in Clinical Social Work Practice. She earned her degree from the University of Calgary and is registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers. She has postgraduate qualifications in Psychology and Education and is also a Certified Health coach.

Her vast work experiences include working with clients from diverse ethnic and multicultural groups; including those from high-risk; marginalized and vulnerable populations. She has provided mental health support within schools, non-profit organizations, and within clinic and hospital settings, equipping her with skills and knowledge to help clients make changes and improve overall mental health.

Her approach to therapy is strength-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered. She values her clients’ lived experiences, creating a psychologically safe space for clients to explore concerns and goals. Zetilda supports clients struggling with the stress associated with everyday living and/or from past experiences and to move from distress, crisis, or burnout towards goals of balance, success, and increased confidence.

She is trained in EMDR and uses Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Solution-focused therapy, Play therapy, and Supportive Counseling as the basis of clients’ interventions.

She is also a BIPOC therapist, providing anti-oppressive culturally sensitive therapy for people of colour who want to either simply connect with a therapist of colour (even if their concerns are not related to discrimination) or want to specifically address the daily or historical impact of discrimination and heal from racial trauma.
