PsychSolutions Team Presenting at the June 2026 International Health for Longevity Conference
The PsychSolutions team is excited to announce that we will be presenting at the 2026 International Health for Longevity Conference, taking place from June 26 to 28, 2026, in Edmonton at the University of Alberta’s Lister Conference Centre, as well as virtually for online attendees.
This conference brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, and wellness focused practitioners to explore evidence based approaches that support long term health, recovery, and overall wellbeing.
Our team will be presenting on two important and increasingly discussed topics.
CBT for Insomnia and Sleep Difficulties
Sleep difficulties can affect nearly every aspect of emotional, cognitive, and physical wellbeing. Chronic sleep disruption is commonly associated with increased stress, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, trauma related symptoms, chronic pain, concentration difficulties, and reduced quality of life.
Our presentation will explore how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, commonly referred to as CBT-I, is considered one of the leading evidence based treatments for persistent sleep difficulties. We will discuss how CBT-I helps address the thoughts, behaviours, habits, and nervous system patterns that can contribute to the development and maintenance of sleep problems over time. CBT-I can help individuals develop long term strategies and skills to manage sleep difficulties throughout different stages of life, while supporting healthier and more sustainable sleep patterns over time.
The presentation will also highlight the importance of collaborative and coordinated care with prescribing physicians, particularly when individuals are beginning to reduce or titrate sleep medications under medical supervision.
Chronic Pain Management, Integrating Neuroplastic-Based Care
Chronic pain is complex and often affects much more than physical health alone. Persistent pain can impact mood, stress levels, relationships, sleep, work functioning, daily routines, and overall quality of life.
Our presentation will explore neuroplasticity informed approaches to chronic pain management, including how the brain and nervous system can become sensitized over time. We will discuss how evidence based psychological therapies can support the brain in developing more adaptive responses to pain, stress, fear, and physical symptoms.
The presentation will also emphasize the importance of collaborative and coordinated care. Psychological services often work alongside medical care, physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic treatment, occupational therapy, and other healthcare supports to strengthen recovery and improve treatment outcomes.
As research on neuroplasticity continues to evolve, there is increasing understanding that the brain has the ability to adapt, reorganize, and strengthen healthier neural pathways throughout life. This growing body of research continues to influence how healthcare providers approach trauma recovery, chronic pain, sleep difficulties, emotional regulation, and overall mental wellness.
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these important conversations and look forward to connecting with fellow professionals and attendees at this year’s conference.
Early bird registration is available until May 15, 2026.
