Training & Qualifications

Michelle is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and holds a Master’s degree in Expressive Therapies and Mental Health Counselling from Lesley University. With over 17 years of experience in the mental health field, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice.

Her diverse background includes serving as a police officer with the Edmonton Police Service for 7 years before returning to counselling. Michelle integrates strategies from various disciplines, drawing from her certifications in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT tapping) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, among others.

She is skilled in using expressive therapies such as art, music, movement, and writing, as well as body-based interventions like energy medicine. Michelle employs a blend of cognitive, behavioural, somatic, and energy psychology techniques to support her clients.

Driven by a passion for exploration and learning, Michelle became a Reiki master while pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta. She believes in bridging science and spirit, recognizing the interconnectedness of both approaches in supporting her clients' holistic well-being.

We're likely to connect and collaborate effectively if:

  • You seek more than traditional talk therapy.
  • You're interested in learning new tools and coping strategies to understand and transform your thoughts, behaviors, and emotional responses.
