Independent Contractor Opportunity - Therapist - Edmonton
EMDR-trained Registered Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker.
Are you someone who values kindness, professionalism, and meaningful clinical work?
At PsychSolutions, Inc., our therapists are at the heart of the healing process. The work you do changes lives. Clients often arrive feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or carrying experiences that feel heavy and complex. The way you show up matters.
We believe healing happens in safe, steady relationships. When a client sits across from you, they are not looking for perfection. They are looking for presence, clarity, and skilled guidance. Our responsibility is to provide care that is ethical, trauma informed, grounded in theory, and delivered with compassion.
If you are a therapist who values depth, integrity, and collaborative growth, you may feel at home here.
About the Role
Our therapists provide thoughtful, evidence based care within a collaborative team environment. You will work with individuals navigating trauma, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, sleep difficulties, injury recovery, and significant life transitions.
We use a phase oriented approach to treatment and are guided by attachment theory and adaptive information processing theory. Potential candidates will have expertise in the areas of trauma, complex trauma, chronic pain, sleep difficulties, and motor vehicle accident and workplace injury recovery.
Therapists at our clinic are expected to:
- Provide ethical, trauma informed psychotherapy
- Develop and maintain clear, timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with referral sources when appropriate
- Participate in consultation and case discussion
- Engage in ongoing professional development
- Contribute to a respectful and psychologically safe team culture
You are not working in isolation here. You are part of a clinical team that values thoughtfulness, accountability, and shared learning.
Who You Are
We are looking for clinicians who are steady, reflective, and clinically grounded. You communicate clearly and kindly, both with clients and colleagues. You understand that complex trauma work, chronic pain presentations, and sleep disruption require patience, structure, and humility.
You are comfortable receiving feedback and offering it respectfully. You take supervision and consultation seriously. You are able to hold boundaries with clients while remaining warm and attuned.
You also:
- Value ethical and client centered care
- Understand the importance of documentation and professional standards
- Are organized and responsible with your caseload
- Remain calm when clinical situations feel layered or complex
- Align with trauma informed and anti oppressive principles
- Appreciate collaboration over hierarchy
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Potential candidates will have demonstrated training and experience in trauma treatment, particularly complex trauma. Experience supporting individuals navigating chronic pain and sleep difficulties is strongly valued. Training in EMDR or other trauma processing modalities is highly considered.
Strong assessment skills, comfort working with MVA and workplace injury clients, and the ability to communicate professionally with insurers or third parties when required are important.
We value clinicians who are committed to ongoing learning, reflective practice, and ethical decision making.
