About Effat Daftarchi, M.A. Provisional Psychologist

At times, it can be hard to face our fears or move past difficult experiences. It can feel like these fears or experiences stay with us, to never be resolved or left behind in our past. Instead, they may stay with us and cause us to keep “feeling” them as though they are happening now. As a result, you may be feeling trapped, stuck, and tired of fighting to hold it together on the outside, while suffering on the inside.

You may want to “get better,” but you are not certain about how to do that or how to move forward. Perhaps you have considered seeking support, but you are also uncertain about doing therapy…it just feels daunting, almost like an additional challenge to face. You may be wondering what therapy will be like and what it will require of you.

Often, however, these concerns usually dissipate once you have met with a therapist and have a clear understanding of how treatment will occur, what the treatment goals will be, and that treatment will always stay within the window of what you can tolerate. Yes, it’s true, treatment will challenge you, but effective treatment will not feel too fast-paced and will not challenge you to the point of feeling overwhelmed. As a client, you have the right to decide the pace and to slow things down when needed.

As a holistic, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed therapist, I tailor evidence-based therapeutic interventions to meet each client's specific needs. I integrate the mind and body into my practice to help clients overcome depression, anxiety, grief, stress, mood disorders, and trauma. I use a strength-based approach and am committed to empowering clients to be liberated from the burden and pain of old wounds and replace their unwanted thoughts, feelings, or emotions with healthier and more adaptive options to create lasting changes. Through special training in various approaches, I help clients settle into a more relaxed state of mind and achieve their well-being and recovery objectives. Join me in a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood.

I also proudly offer NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback, a neuroscience-based and FDA-approved technology that helps clients balance and normalize their brain function and body regulation. Neurofeedback has been used to help people with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, and stress management.

I am honoured to be able to "hold space" for them and to witness their healing journey and life transformation using compassionate and non-pathologizing approaches. The healing methods I offer to my clients, I have already employed on myself and found effective. I understand life can get tough, and at times, unbearable, but what I can promise you is that you will have my complete devotion to your journey to wellness.
