psychsolutions-CA-canadian-armed-forces-1

At PsychSolutions, we are proud to support Regular Force and Reserve Force members of the Canadian Armed Forces through compassionate, evidence based psychological care. We understand that military service can involve unique challenges, including operational stress, trauma exposure, workplace demands, chronic stress, injury recovery, and the ongoing balance between military responsibilities and personal life.

Our therapists provide confidential, trauma informed counselling to help CAF members improve emotional wellbeing, strengthen resilience, and enhance overall quality of life. We offer in person counselling at our Edmonton clinics and secure virtual therapy for clients across Alberta.

Serving CAF Members Across Alberta

We provide:

  • In person counselling in West and South Edmonton
  • Secure virtual therapy across Alberta
  • Flexible daytime and evening appointments
  • Direct billing for approved Medavie Blue Cross services

Direct Billing Through Medavie Blue Cross

PsychSolutions is a registered Medavie Blue Cross provider for eligible Canadian Armed Forces members receiving authorized psychological services through the Federal Health Program.

When services have been approved through the Canadian Forces Health Services, we can bill Medavie Blue Cross directly for eligible treatment, helping reduce out of pocket costs and administrative burden.

Our administrative team is available to answer questions regarding coverage, referrals, and the authorization process.

Getting Started

Beginning treatment is straightforward.

  • Contact our clinic to discuss your psychological concerns and available appointment times.
  • Provide your CAF or Medavie Blue Cross coverage information.
  • Services may be accessed through an authorized referral process, as required by Canadian Forces Health Services.
  • Once authorization has been received, eligible services can be billed directly to Medavie Blue Cross.

Our goal is to make accessing care as simple as possible so you can focus on your recovery.

Types of Therapy Approaches
We Offer

Treatment plans are individualized and may focus on improving sleep, emotional regulation, stress tolerance, trauma recovery, coping skills, workplace functioning, and overall wellbeing.

Our clinic offers a range of evidence based therapies tailored to the needs of RCMP members, including:

Collaborative Care

Recovery often involves more than one healthcare provider. With your consent, we work collaboratively with CAF, physicians, psychiatrists, rehabilitation specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and other healthcare professionals involved in your care.

This collaborative approach helps ensure treatment is coordinated, communication is clear, and everyone involved is working toward the same recovery goals.

Transitioning From Military
Service

If you wish to continue working with your PsychSolutions therapist after being released from the Canadian Armed Forces, payment for services generally becomes your responsibility unless alternative funding has been approved.

If you are medically released and have approved mental health benefits through Veterans Affairs Canada, you may be eligible to continue treatment with your current therapist under VAC funding. We recommend speaking with your CAF Case Manager or VAC Case Manager before your release to discuss available options and ensure continuity of care.
